Howard R. Carr is a painter and sculptor known for his impressionist oil paintings characterized by thick, confident brushstrokes and a vibrant, passionate use of color. A Vietnam veteran with, he studied at Chouinard Art School and the California College of Arts and Crafts, creating works that are often described as spontaneous and rich in color. His work involves exploring hidden colors and values in nature, often using a thick impasto technique with oil paints.
