I created Howard - Jamieson Contemporary Art to share the work of friends. Having been a part of the Artworld since childhood I find myself surrounded by brilliant Artists — some famous, some not and many somewhere in between. My life and theirs is unusual, unique and impossible to explain. There are the paintings, accolades and successes. And far too many marketing shots from inside the studio to our travels. And everything in between, shared with fans via the web. All due to that social media monster we must now feed. All of which, give a brief glimpse into a life that — even the King of the Artworld — Larry Gagosian referred to on CBS Morning News as, ‘A Blood Sport’. The battle to best the last series, hide our sensitive emotional artistic nature and fight for privacy is brutal! In creating this venue, I hope to share a glimpse into the real life of an artist. Not to discourage those who wish to join our ranks but to enlighten, encourage and educate. Here we will share the highs. But also, the battle to become and survive in a world that moves fast, forgets quickly and constantly shouts, ‘BRING IT’.
Artists are born not made. And despite the droves christening themselves thus — only few truly exist. We are those born to create! It’s not just a job but a lifestyle. Both our calling and our quest. I paint emotion. That’s my subject matter and style. In this, ‘Howard - Jamieson Contemporary Art’ my latest venture I hope to capture the heart and soul of the Artist by letting you see ours. Thank you for joining us here. And if you are an Artist, I’d like to hear from you. For ‘we’ are family.

Three different artistic styles merge in the exhibition, ‘Three Friends’. Howard Carr’s work is diverse and eclectic. Exciting, modern and culturally significant. Mikel Diaz’s skill for capturing light, shadow and texture is astounding. The work is elegant and refined. Both Artists are highly skilled. A wealth of experience found in every stroke. And then — Ce Jamieson, former assistant Scribe and Illuminator to HM Queen Elizabeth II, steps onto the stage. Bringing a love for abstraction and modern art. Yet, classically trained with years spent in the fields of both heraldic and contemporary art. Jamieson’s work serves as a bridge between the work of Carr and Diaz. Together these, ‘Three Friends’ have brought an exciting exhibition to Howard - Jamieson Contemporary Art.
